‘절세의 고수, 전설의 명무’로 일컬어지던 한성준 선생을 만나 춤과 끊을 수 없는 인연을 맺었고 1940년 서울 부민회관 무대에 선 이래 일본과 북만주 일대에 진출, 170여 개국에서 1,000여 회가 넘는 해외공연 기록을 세우며 대한민국 문화계의 큰 획을 그은 故 명가 강선영 선생(1925~2016). 명가 강선영 선생의 탄생 100주년을 맞아 오늘날 한국의 무용계를 이끄는 수많은 제자가 모여, 선생의 남겨진 춤 유산의 무용사적 의미를 되새겨보는 무대 〈명가 강선영 불멸의 춤〉이 오는 4월 14일(일) 국립국악원 예악당에서 열린다. 



 

세대를 넘어 이어가는 ‘강선영 춤의 맥’ 조명 


故 강선영 선생은 생전에 국가무형문화재 제92호 태평무 예능 보유자였고, 또한 생전에 서울시 문화상 수상(1965) 제12회 아시아영화제 무용 부문 작품상 수상(초혼)(1965) 국민훈장 목련장 수훈 (1973) 대한민국 문화예술상 연예(무용) 부문 수상(1976), 제4회 대한무용학회주최 예술무용학회 예술상 (2003)을 수상하였다.


이처럼 한국무용 발전에 혁혁한 공을 세웠으며, 역사적으로 의미 있는 민속춤의 대모로 높이 추앙받고 있다. 이에 강선영춤전승원에서는 강선영 선생의 춤과 그 예술혼을 널리 알리고 후대에 길이 남기기 위해, 국가무형문화재인 태평무를 비롯하여 강선영 선생이 남긴 춤을 중심으로 기념공연과 강습회를 지속해 오고 있다.


강선영 선생의 춤은 전통춤 영역에서 원형과 예술성이 특히 뛰어나 오랜 세월 한국을 대표하는 춤으로 널리 인정받아 왔고, 많은 사람에 의해 전수, 전승되고 있으며 이번 무대는 강선영 선생 탄생 100주년을 맞아 선생의 춤 문화유산을 총체적으로 재조명하는 기회로 삼고자 한다.



 

한국춤 역사에서 가지는 ‘명가 강선영 춤의 시대적 가치와 의미’ 조명


선생의 사후 8주기가 흐른 지금도 한국 전통 춤계에서 강선영 선생의 춤은 중추적 자리를 차지하고 있으며, 후학들에게 계속해서 전승되고 있다. 이에 국가무형문화재로 지정된 대표적인 전통춤인 태평무를 비롯하여 강선영 선생의 대표적 작품인 〈무당춤〉, 〈신선무〉, 〈살풀이춤〉 등을 비롯하여 전통을 기반으로 한 재구성한 작품들을 한 자리에 올리고 강선영 선생이 남긴 작품의 시대적 가치와 의미들을 되돌아보며 강선영 선생을 기억하는 이 시대의 어른들이 회고하는 자리를 갖고자 한다. 이를 통해 강선영 선생이 한국 춤 역사에 기여한 공을 기리고 다음 세대들에게 그 춤을 올곧게 이어가며 한국 춤 문화유산을 계승 발전시켜 나가는 데 일익을 담당하고자 한다.

After meeting Han Seong-jun, who was called 'a peerless master and a legendary dancer,' he formed an unbreakable bond with dance. Since appearing on the stage at the Bumin Hall in Seoul in 1940, he has advanced to Japan and Northern Manchuria, performing over 1,000 times in over 170 countries. The late Kang Seon-yeong (1925-2016), a renowned singer, set a record for overseas performances and left a mark on the Korean cultural scene. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of master Kang Seon-young, numerous disciples who are leading the Korean dance world today will gather together to reflect on the dance history meaning of the master's dance legacy, “Master Kang Seon-young's Immortal Dance,” which will be held on Sunday, April 14th. It will be held at the Korean Traditional Music Center’s Yeakdang.

The late teacher Kang Seon-yeong was a holder of the Taepyeongmu dance, National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 92, and also received the Seoul Metropolitan Government Cultural Award (1965), the Best Picture Award in the dance category at the 12th Asian Film Festival (1965), and the Magnolia Medal of the National Merit (1973). Korean culture He won the Art Award in the entertainment (dance) category (1976) and the 4th Korean Dance Society Arts Award (2003).


She has made a significant contribution to the development of Korean dance and is highly revered as the mother of historically significant folk dance. Accordingly, the Kang Seon-young Dance Center has continued to hold commemorative performances and classes focusing on the dances left behind by Kang Seon-young, including Taepyeongmu, a national intangible cultural asset, in order to widely publicize Kang Seon-young's dance and her artistic spirit and leave a legacy for future generations.

Even now, eight years after the teacher's death, Seonyoung Kang's dance occupies a pivotal position in the Korean traditional dance world and continues to be passed down to younger generations. Accordingly, reconstructed works based on tradition, including Taepyeongmu, a representative traditional dance designated as a national intangible cultural asset, as well as Kang Seon-young's representative works such as 〈Shaman Dance〉, 〈Sinseonmu〉, and 〈Salpuri chum〉, are presented in one place. We would like to have a place for adults of this era who remember Seonyoung Kang to look back on the contemporary values and meanings of the works she left behind. Through this, we would like to honor Seonyoung Kang's contribution to the history of Korean dance and play a part in passing on the dance to the next generation and developing the cultural heritage of Korean dance.
